Websites on our hosting plan have free SSL certificates from Let’s Encrypt that renew automatically. Certificates are valid for 90 days and renew automatically. Learn why here. You don’t need to do anything to ensure that your certificate stays active.
SSL certificates renew frequently to provide the latest security features. It’s helpful to view the current SSL certificate as having no actual expiration date, and the renewals are just updates to the security.
Did you receive an email about an expiring SSL certificate?
Check if that email is from WP Engine and Let's Encrypt. If not, then that certificate is not connected to the website we host. There is the possibility that the SSL certificate was purchased elsewhere and they are contacting you with a renewal notice. If that is the case and you are not using that certificate elsewhere, you can let it expire.
