Transit alerts are an important function of websites, as they are a crucial way to communicate service changes to your riders.
Somethings to note:
- Use a short, descriptive title. Avoid putting the dates of the alert into the title.
- Setting a start date will show this as the effective date everywhere the alert is displayed. The alert will still appear on the site even if it is before the start date.
- If you have an end date set, the alert will no longer appear on the site after this date.
Selecting System Alert will show this alert as a banner at the top of all pages. Only the most recent system alert will be displayed in the top banner. However, a button will appear in the alert banner which will expand to display additional System Alerts. Affected Routes should always be selected when possible. If it affects your entire agency, select All Routes. Alerts will appear on the route pages of Affected Routes. If there are no affected routes, consider whether it makes more sense as a news item than as an alert.
