Directions are internal facing labels that allow for easier sorting of Patterns and Trips.
Create, Edit and Delete Directions
Directions, like Headsigns, have their own dashboard accessible from the Agency Dashboard's lefthand menu.
The Directions Dashboard lists all available Directions. By default, Directions are sorted by ID but can also be sorted by label (name) and Direction A/B. You can also Filter your list.
Create a New Direction
Click Add a Direction and the Direction edit menu will appear. The only editable fields on Directions are the label (name) and Direction A/B. Direction A/B allows Directions to be sorted into alternating pairs, such as Inbound/Outbound, Northbound/Southbound, Clockwise/Counterclockwise. This is not required, but some AVL providers may require it.
Edit an Existing Direction
A Direction can be renamed by selecting its label and changing the name.
Note: Changing a Direction's label may affect multiple Stop Patterns and/or Timed Patterns. If unsure about where a Direction is used, create a new one instead.
Delete a Direction
Directions can only be deleted when not used in any Stop Patterns and/or Timed Patterns. It must first be removed or replaced on all Stop Patterns and/or Timed Patterns before it can be deleted by selecting the red "x" to the right of the Direction's label.
Add a Direction to a Route
Directions can only be added to Routes via Stop Patterns and Timed Patterns.
